He was born July 6th at 1:01 am weighing 8lbs o.3 oz and was 20 1/4 inches long. It was by far not an easy delivery to be honest. Early on, my contractions needed a boost so they gave me some meds to help things along. By doing this it caused severe contractions which then quickly helped me decide to have an epidural. However, the epidural wore off after about an hour and a half. I was in the worst pain I've ever felt considering my pain meds were not working and my contractions were off the charts. Finally, after much suffering the Anesthesiologist came in to give me a shot to help relieve the pain, thank goodness that worked! I was already dilated to a 9 by this point and was VERY ready to have the baby. Finally, he made his grand arrival and it was the most amazing thing I've ever experienced. At first it felt like I was looking at someone else's baby, but that soon passed and I immediately fell in love. Since then he has done perfectly well. We went to his one week check-up Tuesday morning and he is already back to his birth weight. He has become the love of our lives and the center of everything. It's amazing what is NOT important after you have a baby and how they help you realize what really is. We also have some new exciting news... my sister in law Shannon is pregnant with baby #2. We are so very excited to be an Aunt and Uncle again!! She is due January 10th, we can't wait! Corrik will be right at 5 months older than his soon to be baby cousin, we know that will be so fun for them. We know that Ethan will make a great older brother and cousin. :0)

We will try to keep this blog updated the best we can. It's a little more difficult considering our hands are full, but we know it's important for everyone to stay updated. We have pictures up in our Picasa Web Album if you are interested. http://picasaweb.google.com/thebrunsonfam
